| 1. What is vinyl? All of our fencing products are made from virgin polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and other critical ingredients such as UV inhibitors and impact modifiers. 2. Is it strong? Vinyl has five times the strength of wood yet is much more flexible. Our products are designed to produce the maximum strength and flexibility of a quality vinyl. 3. Will it fade or turn yellow? No. The fading or yellowing in vinyl products is due to the sun's ultra-violet rays. Our products contain titanium (Ti02), which is like a built in sunscreen, and stops vinyl from fading or turning yellow. 4. Will it crack? Due to changing temperatures all materials expand and contract. Impact modifiers add flex to our vinyl, so that when the temperatures heat up or cool down, our vinyl will give, instead of cracking or splintering like wood. 5. Is it heavy? No. Vinyl weighs about 1.1 pounds per linear foot. This is remarkably lighter than typical wood used in fencing projects. In addition to being light vinyl is also very strong, durable and easy to work with. 6. How can it be cleaned? Cleaning is very rarely needed when dealing with vinyl. If a cleaning is necessary, it can be done with water, a brush with detergent, or even a mild bleach solution. 7. Will it burn? Vinyl has a flash point of 900 degrees Fahrenheit. If fire is held to vinyl it will burn, but as soon as the fire is taken away, the vinyl will self-extinguish. 8. Will it mildew? Vinyl is a difficult surface for mildew to grow. Only under the wettest conditions will mildew grow on vinyl. If mildew dose occur it can easily be removed with warm water and a brush. 9. Can I paint it? There is no need to paint your vinyl fence posts since they are maintenance free and always look like new. I you want to change the color of your fence, Epoxy-based paint is the only type of paint that will adhere properly to the smooth vinyl surface. However, it is not recommended to paint vinyl because it damages the surface. 10.Do you have a warranty? Click HERE for warranty information. |
